Is it weird that when Hassan called me Jen (which everyone knows me by nowadays) on Facebook IM this evening, I assumed something horrible had happened? He's called me by my last name for so long, Jennifer stands out. I'm... actually not sure... if he's ever called me Jen before... *slightly disconcerted*

Anyway.
Reason for icon. 'Cause Hassan will never be the cause of kissy-iconage. And if he ever is? I-- Just don't know what that would mean.
Hello Mr. Subconscience's Best Friend. Long time no see. Eh, not that I'm complaining, but why are you back? My dreams have been nice not-causing-depression-when-I-wake-up ones.
Eh, at least you're cuddly in my brain.

*~*
Owls mating calls are just plain weird. *stares out window*

Holy sentence fragment post, Batman!

The Videos:Collapse )

The Lesson:
Kid Rock needs to sing more and rap less, 'cause DAY-UM.

Annoying part? That second video hit #2 on the Country Top 40. "My" radio station only played it if someone requested it (luckily, that was a common occurance), but the #1 song was played at least once by every DJ, every day. Sometimes twice. Yes, I counted. Yes, by the end of that summer, I HATED the #1 song, and still adored this one.

- Danger of living in FLorida: A nose that is ready to run away!

- Bought bell collars for the cats in order to improve the survival rate of the local wildlife. Gypsy lost hers the first day. Twice. The first time, Luke found it. Pi waited until this afternoon (bought on Saturday). $6 down the drrrain.
THough I know that Pi's collar gave at least one squirrel a nice edge.

- My brain says that W. is no longer a match for me. My heart libido something says that he's really damn cute and fun to make smile. And, in his words today after sneaking up and tickling me (per usual), "Flirting is the best mood lifter around."

- Its sad when buying an item (in this case, filters for a fish pond) one at a time costs less then buying a three pack. I mean, huh?

- Amusing: Wal-Mart puts price-per-unit in the corner of their price tags. Usually its by ounce, occasionally by unit (per tissue or something). For some crazy reason, they do sponges per POUND. So I recently had a choice between $109 sponges or $119 ones. It... amused me. :)

LL, thanks for the otter! Its so cute!

My dad is doing better. With any luck, he should be going home today! They had to put in an internal defibrulator to straighten everything out, but boy, did it do its job. :) He looks so much better!

My idiot cats want to go outside (the problem of housebreaking any animal), but it is freakin' cold out there! So they meow at the door, I open it, they stick their little pink noses out, bristle their whiskers and retreat. THen they try again in 5-10 minutes. Oy. Pi braved it once, then within a few minutes there was frantic scratching at the door to get back in.
I'll give them the fact that they are smart. They meow to get out, but know that I can't hear it from outside, so to get inside they scratch instead! I'm sure there was some trial and error involved, but now its a fool-proof system!

I'm very excited about Luke's up-coming birthday present, which he knows nothing about. Luke's Nina and Grandaddy got me a 2011 Disney World guide book for Christmas and it is helping me to get a feel for how I'm going to arrange everything. I still haven't decided if we're going to go for his actual birthday (which would be sooo awesome, and it does fall on a Saturday this year), or wait a bit until summer crowds are gone and it MIGHT be a little cooler. I don't know how much longer I can wait, though. Unlike my oblivious son, I KNOW about the trip! lol

Thus concludes the random!

I did my exercise video last night with my brand new giant ball thinger (tm) and yes, I felt the burn. lol The not-too-overly-perky "personal trainer" said 3 times a week, so I think I'll shoot for Tues, Thurs and Sat evenings.

Yesterday, I also bought a pair of shitkickers I've been eying on clearance.
What's that?
You don't know what shitkickers are? You were not raised within spitting distance of horses, cows, and other assorted livestock?
THESE are shitkickers. But mine are brown. :D

Luke has mild pneumonia in his right lung. His cough seriously started one day, he got a fever the next, and was sent home the day after that to go to the doctor and was diagnosed. He feels GREAT, as evidenced by energy levels, but he still has a nasty sounding cough.

Thanks to a fabulous tax refund and a guy my dad knows, I got a new stove yesterday! I don't have to guesstimate where I should set the oven dial to get it CLOSE to the desired temperature. The knobs are on the BACK of the stove instead of the front, so I don't have to take off the knobs any more. I'm excited! Luke and I made cookies last night to "test it out". It worked very well. :D

I have yummy smelling candles. I have since... July? -Ish? Still haven't lit them.
I love the idea of candles. I like their smells. I even like the melted wax smell when you blow them out. I just don't ever have a reason to use them, I guess. There's no place near the computer to safely leave them. If I'm not on the computer, I'd likely be reading, and if I'm going to have candles lit, I want the rest of the lights dim.
And frankly, my eyesight is bad enough, thankyouverymuch, without adding eye strain, etc to it.
((I'm more and more convinced that my bad eyes come at least partially from reading in bad lighting every night for all of my childhood. Especially since while living at home in high school, my eyes got worse and worse every year, but once I moved out, they've evened out. I can still see perfectly well out of my lenses from 2005. In contrast, between my check up in 2000 when I got glasses, and my appointment in 2001, both my eyes got twice as bad [as in, went from 20/50 to 20/100 in one eye]))

WOW. I just went completely random from my completely random post! That takes talent! And so to bed with ME.

(I might, might might make something yummy soon. Which has no bearing on you guys... But if they are as good as they LOOK, I'll post the recipe. :D)

Go me!

I think I'll post my story here tomorrow. *gnaws lip*

And now I'm gonna go fix a toasted cheese sandwich and some ramen. Yes, I know it's 10:25pm. No, I don't care. 'Cause the time is WHY I'm hungry.

I want ice cream.

Gretchen Wilson is coming to UF for a concert. In case you don't know, she sings Redneck Woman and the second bestest song, All Jacked Up. And I think I'm gonna have to give in and actually BUY a ticket. I've been trying to win one, but it isn't working out. If I had any skillz at jumbles that don't come with clues, I might be in luck, but no. And the more I think about it, the more I wanna go. Especially because Van Zant (hellllllo, bad asses), and *blink* Jason Aldean(?) are coming with her, making for what promises to be a completely rockin' show.

In other thoughts:
You ever find yourself chatting with someone randomly, be it in a bookstore, restaurant, a line for whatever, and then you lapse back into whatever you were doing? And then when you go to leave, there's that awkward moment? You know, where you don't know if you should say "bye" to this stranger that you just met? Yeah, I had one of those today. Kicking back in the school bookstore reading some magazines, this guy (cute in that scruffy way) sat down next to me. We chatted for a coupla minutes about music and stuff. After awhile I was starting to run low on magazines. But he had to go first, so I didn't have to make that agonizing decision of whether or not to say bye to this random dude. (btw, he said bye. We actually ended up chatting again.)
-> Am I just even more socially disfunctional then I thought, or does this happen to other people?

So very AptCollapse )

The most horrible seconds in the human experience... Those where you are watching the questionable milk creep its way toward the lip of your glass, where you are preparing (though never quite prepared enough) to take the world's tiniest sip to establish its ability to be drank. Hair raising, YES.

I have CW ideas. I do. But I... I can't get them to sit still and commit themselves for longer then two seconds. Yes, my ideas are apparently toddlers. Bah, this whole "literary" thing is throwing me off my game. That and the fact that I haven't even sat down to really write even genre in a loooong time. *grumbles* mathamatician love story my ass...

New question to self: Does Vin Diesel's or Trace Adkin's voice make me go GUH more? [Kenny Chesney is out of the running 'cause his voice only does it b/c it calls to mind visions of him doing The Hip Thing (tm) and that there is just CHEATING.]

I have a four day weekend, starting today, seeing as I scored no classes on Fridays by dumping Art Hist. and Mon. being MLK Day. Wanna get stuff done but... It's so hoT! lol It's been a high of 77 recently, and wearing jeans has become uncomfortable. As in, there was sweat! Argh. Anyways, here's what I wanna get done this weekend:

~ Go to Gator Textbooks and pick up the four texts that were ordered exculsively through them. (2 miles, through construction, South)
~ Go to library and get the short story collection with the Stephanie Plum story in it. Gotta stay current! (1.5 miles North)
~ Go to WalMart for mini mp3 player, chips, rat munchies and some form of meat. (2 miles West)

Less then thrilling, eh? W*M and GTB are pretty well req. for me to do this weekend, the library is just for fun.

Poster sale on campus has 2 Serenity posters. Not sure if I'm telling you that so you'll talk me into one, or out. LOL
(They have the movie poster, with dangerous!River in front, then the rest of the crew progressively further back, and one of the crew as a whole. I want the latter, 'cause Jayne is WAAAAY too far back for my taste in the first. ;) )

My hair is longer then it's been in... YEARS. about 4.5 years. And I need to get it trimmed, 'cause its running wiiiild. I like the length, but it wasn't cut to be this long, esp. not with my natural curliness.

Any Stargaters watch the new ones last week?! Anyone wanna give me a recap? Or a link to a recap? Please?! I was still in Ocala, and that equals on SG for me unless I have a working VCR with me. Which I didn't.
